New Lent Resource for 2022: Way Maker

New, free Lent resource for 2022: Way Maker

This Lent, we're challenging your pupils pause and consider how they can become way makers in their community.

In the Bible Jesus says ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’. John 14:6. For Christians this message is a key part of the Easter story, that Jesus came to Earth to bring hope and to offer people a new way of living life and coming closer to God.

With 6 weeks of content, Way Maker will take pupils on a journey through Lent, reflecting on Jesus’ ministry and his example of being a “Way Maker” and serving others. The 6 sessions help pupils to explore what it means to be: servant hearted, compassionate, accepting, bold, forgiving and a light in the darkness. Way Maker helps pupils to consider what these examples mean for their own lives and the practical actions they can take to become way makers in their community.

Each week, the resource includes:

- A key question

- Bible links

- A short video reflection

- 4 practical challenges

- A closing prayer

This flexible resource can be used in the classroom for collective worship in school, or in a church setting. Activities and challenges are suitable for KS2 and KS3 but can be adjusted for use with KS1 and KS4 pupils. Downloadable resources come in the form of PowerPoint and video files.
