The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, and the Trustees of The Archbishop of York Youth Trust are pleased to announce that Dan Finn will be the new Director of the Youth Trust from 1st August 2013. Dan had previously been working as the Young Leaders Award Coordinator at the Youth Trust.
Dan joined the Archbishop of York Youth Trust in June 2011, since then he has focused on creating and developing the Young Leaders Award, writing the majority of the material for the Key Stage 2, 3, and 4 programmes. He also worked closely with Manor CE Academy developing the material for the KS3 and 4 Awards, and has witnessed first-hand the impact that the programme has had on the lives of staff, students and the school as a whole.
Prior to his arrival at the Youth Trust, Dan worked as the Executive Officer of the York Schools and Youth Trust (YoYo) – a York based Christian youth and schools charity – offering assemblies, club and RE lessons in primary and secondary schools, and supporting church based youth and children’s workers across the city.
Dan Finn said:
“I’m very excited to be taking on the leadership of the Youth Trust and to work with the excellent Board of Trustees and other team members. The Youth Trust has an inspirational goal, to empower young people across the North of England to ‘be the change they want to see’. We want to increase our grant making programme; deliver the Young Leaders Award further; and build stronger partnerships with other organisations. I believe through these core values we can grow something special in the lives of young people today. So please get in touch, support us, and be a part of the journey as we encourage young people to change our world for the better.”
Dr John Sentamu said:
“I’m delighted that Dan will be stepping up to be the new Director of my Youth Trust. Dan brings great passion and energy with him and already has first-hand knowledge of the difference that the Youth Trust makes every day in the lives of young people living in the North of England. Dan has already helped develop and shape the Young Leaders Award. It is fantastic news that he will be continuing to oversee this important work as it continues to grow over the coming months and years.”
