Andrew Buttery, Headteacher outlines what they children learnt and achieved:

"All the pupils in Class 4 benefited from completing the award.  The children developed empathy for people who are not as fortunate as them.  They also really enjoyed learning about how Christian Values have supported significant historical figures/leaders.

The children supported a wide range of people/charities - these included:

·  The Salvation Army

·  Siblings

·  Neighbours

·  Relatives

·  Local charity shops

·  Children in Need

·  CHASA (PTA for Crayke)

·  Sending Christmas cards to elderly residents of a local residential care home

·  A random act of kindness to clean out the chickens and wash their feeders

·  Cooking a meal for their family

The list goes on…

For our community action project the pupils supported Children in Need.  They ran a number of stalls and raised over £200. The children chose this charity because they found out that Children in Need supports children in our local area.

Here's what some of the children had to say about taking part:

“it takes time to complete the project, but it was well worth it!”
“I loved it!  I helped the local community and the environment…”
